Spring Break in Sedona is beautiful - and famously busy. From early March through mid-April, visitors arrive from across the country, trails filled by sunrise, and the town hums with energy. It’s a wonderful season to be here…if you know where to stay. Eight miles north of town, tucked into a protected bend of Oak Creek Canyon, there is another rhythm entirely. At Orchard Canyon on Oak Creek , Spring Break is quieter, slower, and deeply connected to nature - an experience designed for families who want something meaningful, restorative, and memorable. Why Orchard Canyon Is Perfect for Spring Break The magic here isn’t something that can be designed or replicated. It’s the accumulation of time and place. Ten acres of century-old apple orchards. Organic gardens. A chicken coop. Direct frontage on Oak Creek. Cabins relocated here in the 1930s. Rare water rights in a protected canyon. You cannot build a hundred-year-old producing orchard tucked against wilderness cliffs. It is the land itself - and the stewardship of generations - that shapes the experience. While Sedona’s town center grows lively each spring, Orchard Canyon remains a haven where families can breathe, reconnect, and feel the quiet beauty of the canyon. A Different Kind of Family Spring Break This year, we are introducing Orchard Canyon Spring Break & Summer Camps - a boutique camp experience created especially for younger guests and their parents. This is not daycare. It is curated, nature-rich, and inspired. While children explore orchards, Creekside trails, art projects, music, and canyon stories, parents can hike, read by the creek, join a yoga class, enjoy sound healing, a massage, or simply rest - knowing their children are thoughtfully cared for on property. What Makes Orchard Canyon Camp Special • Small, boutique groups • Nature and Orchard exploration • Arts, crafts, and creative play • Music, storytelling, and campfire moments • Local history and canyon discovery • Fun movement, adventure, games Programs are shaped around the talents of our Orchard Canyon team and local artists, so each week feels seasonal and unique. And because families travel in different ways, camps can be customized for children only or for the entire family to enjoy together. A Setting That Encourages Connection Orchard Canyon is one of the few places in the American West still operating on the traditional American Plan - meals included, served in our Lodge with care and intention. Breakfast is farm-fresh and unhurried. Dinner feels like gathering in a friend’s home. Meals are shared, conversations unfold, and friendships form around the table. Children play together after dinner while parents linger with tea and stories. There are no televisions in the cabins. No phones ringing. No tipping culture. What we offer instead is something rare: presence. Spring Break Without the Crowds Spring Break in Sedona spans six to eight weeks because school holidays are staggered nationwide. Trails and parking fill early, and reservations are essential. At Orchard Canyon, families enjoy: • Private creek access • Space to roam and explore • Small-group activities • Signature hikes • Peaceful evenings under canyon stars It is Spring Break as it used to be- nature-centered, simple, joyful. When Camps Are Offered We will host camp sessions during: • March Spring Breaks through Mid-April • Early June through the first week of August Because Orchard Canyon is intimate by design, sessions are created around guest interest and enrollment. Some weeks may offer full camp days, others half-days or themed experiences - all with the same thoughtful care. Families planning a stay are encouraged to let us know children’s ages and preferred dates when booking so we can shape the best experience for your visit. A Signature Orchard Canyon Experience Our goal is simple: To create a Spring Break where every member of the family feels inspired, cared for, and connected - to nature, to each other, and to the rhythm of the canyon. This is the Orchard Canyon difference. Not louder. Not busier. Just deeper. If you are dreaming of a Spring Break that feels like a true retreat - for children and adults alike - we would be honored to welcome, you. Next week, we’ll share more details about specific Spring Break weeks and themed camp experiences. In the meantime, our team is happy to help plan your family’s stay at Orchard Canyon.
